I was born in Redruth, Cornwall and brought up at Porthtowan on the North coast of Cornwall .

After going to Tolgus County Secondary School, Redruth, I left in 1974 for a four year course in Technical Graphics at Cornwall Technical College and gained A level Art, City & Guilds Parts 1 & 2, and a Diploma in Technical Illustration.

In 1978 I left College to work in a studio in Clifton, Bristol as a Technical Illustrator working on Parts and Maintenance Manuals. I painted in my spare time, and had several exhibited in galleries in London.

As my interest in Wildlife, Butterflies and birds in particular increased, I decided to devote more time to Wildlife Illustration. Since then I have had several small and joint exhibitions in Avon and Cornwall.
